We live in St. Augustine and every time we hit the downtown area we try a new place. This past weekend we choose Dos Gatos on Hypolita St. The service wasn't bad, it was absolutely non existent! In all fairness, it was the celebration of the 450 years in St. Augustine; BUT-over the weekend we visited at least 7-8 other places and while each one was as busy as Dos Gatos they all managed to staff enough bartenders to provide service. We have no problem waiting for service, but for over 15 minutes the (one of only two) bartenders kept going back to the same person who was ordering for MANY tables (none of the staff ever went to a table to serve as far as we noticed). Finally we walked out and the young man at the door said he worked there and when we asked him why the bar was so poorly staffed he said "I don't know, I just got here, I can't help you." With all the choices around for a drink, Dos Gatos is NOT one of them for us.

This place is the worst. We ordered a speciality cocktail and the bartender refused to make it for the rest of my party. Then, before closing time, 2 egotistical bouncers threw my party out. Never come here. Ever.

Very similar to shim sham room in Jax Beach . Even has a bear to pose and take pictures with !

Only had a drink. It was early in their business hours, so I was the only one there. Great atmosphere and the bartenders know their drinks. One asked, "do you trust me?" and I responded with, "yes." He made me a great cocktail (black walnut Manhattan) after I told him my go-to drinks. If I didn't live in PDX, I'd be back soon.

Pros: the girl singer and guy guitarist were awesome! Atmosphere was pretty chill. Orange jalapeño margarita was pretty good but could've been a bit stronger. Cons: bartenders sucked. There were 3 of them and two of them walked by our table more than once when we had empty drinks and didn't even ask if we wanted more. Our last round we ordered was never even brought to us after waiting 30 minutes. Other people were being served and our table of 6 people who would've ended up with about a $250 tab had we gotten any service was completely forgotten about.

This is a great new place. Stopped in before dinner. If you like spicy, try the orange jalapeño margarita. Excellent. My wife had a drink Devon made, a Tom Collins cut with cucumber. Perfect drink for the heat. Nice job guys.

hands down- the best bar in saint augustine! Friends shared this place with me. It's the old fashion drink with the modern chic decor. Totally worth the visit and repeat visits!

Popped into this place and discovered it literally just opened this week! The friendly informative bartender told us the food menu hasn't been set yet but the hand crafted cocktails were scrumptious!!!! all the drinks were $8! My group of 4 all enjoyed our freshly made beverages! Loved the decor, exciting for Saint Augustine to have such a wonderful high quality drink menu that won't break your bank!!

What a fun little trendy spot to grab some drinks, dance, and listen to music in St. Augustine! The former home of Rhett's Piano bar. They did quite a bit to it! Looks great! The upstairs has a pre prohibition look to it with a small corner bar and the downstairs has more of a club vibe. The bartenders, Brynn and Riley, were very sweet and made some serious drinks for me and my party. We had a blast! I used to frequent Dos in Jax so it was a nice surprise to see one in St. Augustine!

Matt is the best bartender. Makes a great drink. Try the Red Dawn for a spin on the Moscow Mule with cherry flavor. I love the Orange Jalapeno Margarita!

Great drinks and super friendly staff. You really can't go wrong with any of their signature drinks. Awesome place to escape the heat and cool off while walk the oldest city streets in the US.

We visited St. Augustine for the weekend and this place was right in the middle of the nice walking district. The cocktails were prepared with great attention and detail. I had the bourbon soul smash, and an old fashioned and both were great. Prices are awesome for what you get. A great bang for your buck. Great atmosphere as well

The biggest downside is this place has no food-not even like chips for the late night munchies and no outside seating. However-if you want an amazing cocktail with fresh ingredients and a reasonable price-come here. They have friendly bartenders. My boyfriend and I became a regular here in our 3 days. The music is nice-great for all types of people. The soul crusher was our favorite. They also have cocktails that they will set on fire. Also, try the stolen fish with the fresh basil!

A much needed establishment! Fantastic environment. Comfortable and classy. Try the hand crafted cocktails. My favorite is the Old Fashion!

Trendy.... The inside looks like it's from the 20s with really cool couches and decor (not to mention the polar bear!!) Craft beers for $4 and handmade strong cocktails for $8 all in a cool atmosphere with great service. Definitely will be back.

If you want to have the best cocktail you have ever had come here. Seriously. The level of care that goes into a drink is insane. Bartenders know what they're talking about and know what they're doing. I would give this place more than 5 stars if I could.

Good stock and a nice vibe. But staff seem intent on not serving you. Too long to wait for these prices.

Three of us walked in for a before dinner drink and although the place was not busy - a few people at the bar - after waiting 10 minutes we were not served nor was our presence acknowledged, we left shaking our heads.

What a welcomed addition to the downtown Saint Augustine area. I heard they had opened a Dos Gatos there, but took me awhile to get over there to experience it. Awesome place and frankly kind of enjoy it more than the OG downtown Jax location. Has a small dance floor on the ground floor with a bar and a DJ. Go around to the back right to find the stairs and get transformed into the red light district. Nice little lounge area to sit down or stand around and chat with friends upstairs. Also has a bar up the stairs and to the left. Still somewhat small, but surprisingly great use of space for this type of building in downtown Saint Augustine. Gets super crowded around 10:30 or 11 and on.
